Introducing Myles Stoops | Sun Valley Birth Photography | Ketchum, Idaho
I have been wanting to shoot a birth for the longest time now - but it’s difficult to find the right person that is willing to share a very intimate and intense experience with a stranger. So when Keena first contacted me I was so excited and she was so open and ready to document her 4th and final labor.
This experience is probably in my top 5. Life is such a miracle. Women’s bodies and the will to bring a child into the world is just beyond me. I was almost in tears when they put that sweet baby on her momma’s chest - it brought me back to my own children births and how incredible and intense that moment is when you first get to lay eyes on your baby that you’ve been growing inside of you for the last 40 weeks.
I want to document all the births!! Interested in birth photography?? Lets chat - click here to contact me.
“We experience birth so differently from the intimate spaces of our bodies and minds, it feels disingenuous to strike comparisons and place value judgments. Any woman who experiences the vulnerability of carrying a child in her body (or heart) and bringing it earthside is heroic in my estimation. This idea that there is a special medal danging on the tree for going without meds makes us undervalue ourselves and depreciate the ordeals we have endured. Loss moms, adoptive moms, cesarean birth mothers…We all open. We all tear, somewhere (body, heart, soul). We all both wildly embrace and struggle to embrace these experiences. It all takes courage and that courage is always worth celebrating.” — Rachel Lorena Brown
